Abstract:

This unique 4 session approach to overcoming addictions draws on the presenter`s 45 years of experience in helping people quit smoking, alcohol and drugs. It outlines a simple four session approach aimed at improving successful outcomes and minimising withdrawal.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this workshop participants will know:
• Some current research findings on the effects of smoking and alcohol.
• 6 Things that improve success rates.
• Useful questions to ask in history taking.
• The role of triggers.
• 2 key intake questions.
• The role of denial in maintaining addictions and how to deal with it.
• The role that emotions and unfinished business play in addictions and how to deal with them

 

Brian Allen is a graduate of the University of Western Australia and a Registered Psychologist in private practice in Perth. Brian is a Past President of Australian Society of Hypnosis, current Chair and Director of Training of ASH WA. He is a member of the Board of Directors of ISH since 2009 and is the current Secretary of the Council of Representatives of ISH. Brian has over 45 year of experience in the field of hypnosis as a practitioner and a trainer. He has been an invited keynote speaker and workshop presenter at state, national and international conferences
